Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer (Surgoinsville, TN) Client in Automotive forgings is currently hiring an Entry Level Mechanical Design Engineer- no experience is required, demonstration of 3D modeling capabilities is main focus determining the candidate.
Client will consider candidates with either Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, as long as focus is on 3D CAD modeling.
Position is a Direct Hire role.
Primary Job Function:
This job has the responsibility and authority relative to non-conforming product, to stop production, take corrective action, initiate action to prevent the occurrence, recommend or provide solutions, verify implementation of solutions and control of non-conforming product.
Job Duties:
Creates drawings and 3D models necessary for estimating.
Creates detailed drawings & three-dimensional CAD files for Forge product design, die design, secondary tooling design, and process design.
Receives work priorities from Engineering Manager.
Provide drawings/CAD files upon request to support all BF-PMT production and Estimating.
Participates in drawing meetings to review new drawings/changes with other departments.
Perform all aspects of Design from scratch for any new job or product.
This can consist of but not limited to product drawings, reduce roll design, die layout design, gage drawings, and all secondary tooling drawings within the deadline.
Also assist with Bill of Materials and routings development.
Performs records keeping to all documents, file management, and drawing management for the Engineering department.
Assist quoting for potential new jobs when necessary.
This can consist of but not limited to, drawing/model development and obtaining outside costs from various suppliers necessary to quote the job.
This includes Heat Treat costing, Raw material costing/lead-time and Specification development, Shot blast costing, Paint Costing, Machining costs and Lead-time, Shipping Costs, etc.
Manage all customer drawings.
Follows all safety procedures and monitors those already in place.
Provide CAD files upon request to Toolshop, CMM, and Outside Vendors Upon request.
Performs activities for product continuous process improvement including calculations to reduce steel bar crop end loss.
Qualifications:
3D modeling experience, entry level grad acceptable.
The right candidate with 3d modeling experience will be trained.
Expertise in any of the following CAD packages required- CREO/ SOLIDWORKS/ INVENTOR/ CATIA.
Creo preferred, but candidate hired must be able to navigate in 3d CAD, minimum, at least one of the packaged mentioned.
